Alida Olsson, Åhus 1964

Alida - Famous tobacco grower

Alida Olsson, tobacco grower from Åhus, was something of a legend not least on account of a type of tobacco which she had personally bred and which was called Alida tobacco. She saved seeds from her last crop in 1964.

Some of her seeds have been stored in our museum more than 38 years. These seeds of tobacco made it possible for the museum to start growing Alida tobacco.

Alida and her daughter Astrid.
