We are pleased to announce that we have received a generous donation from Husqvarna Industrial Museum.
The donation consists of a cigarette case in cast iron. Cases of this type were cast in limited numbers until about 1975. They were used by Husqvarna Vapenfabriks AB (later Husqvarna AB) as gifts to the employees who retired.
Old Husqvarna veterans say that during the post-processing, the small amount of cigarette cases were watched by a guard so that none of the attractive items would "disappear" between the casting and the retirement party.
The party was held in the Husqvarna company's Gamla Smedjan ("Old Smithy") at the waterfalls in Huskvarna. The CEO spoke and gave the cases to the employees who were retiring. It was not uncommon for employees to have been at the company for 50 years - or more.
The Tobacco & Match Museum thanks museum director Rickard Bindberg and curator Dan-Erik Westerdahl at Husqvarna Industrial Museum for this great donation!
